This is yet another wip.. I seem to surround myself in them nowadays. Thankfully that’s because I’m busy working on my new book and these wips are there to fill the spare time inbetween and to improve and inspire my painting.

Much to my surprise and happiness my art book ‘Goblinoids‘ is getting some great reviews!

They give it a great review, not a rating sadly but here’s a quote from the review..

Being as I regularly buy this magazine for all the great artwork and features within, I’m very proud of this score and review!

So there, I just wanted to brag in a kind of idiotic, tongue lolling way! Not in some arrogant ‘Look at me I’m a cock’ kinda way

Although I’m sure that’s debatable in certain circles

Yep it’s official now!

The book is now available in Borders, Waterstones, all good book stores and on Amazon and other various online book shops.

I really enjoyed painting these guys, and feel like I’ve turned another corner with my artwork with doing these.

Weirdly, when I used to enter the COW/CHOW madness I actually went in to try and win.. but obviously if you’ve seen the talent over there then you know I’m not up to their standard. But I’ve been listening to some  art podcasts recently, the Ninja Mountain podcasts ones mainly but also another that I fail to remember the name of, sorry! But in that ‘forgotten one‘ in particular, Jason Manley was a guest and his words kinda inspired me to put more effort into my work, for myself, not for anyone else.

The result has been that these two pieces in particular are just for me and only me! I can see an improvement in my art (at last! Yay!), and I’ve been loving painting more each day, since.. it’s weird how just a few words can ring in your head and can help you step up to the plate and try just that little bit harder.

So, wise words from Scott.. never forget to paint for yerself!! It can be easily forgotten or pushed to the side.
